ANCORA GROUP CONSOLIDATES ITS PRESENCE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN REGI

Three major supply contracts in Egypt, Tunisia and Portugal testify to the Sassuolo-based Ancora Group’s growing presence in the Mediterranean area

Ancora Group has secured three major orders in the Mediterranean region, consolidating its commercial presence in a strategic area for the end-of-line tile treatment market. These consist of two polishing and lapping lines for Suez-based firm Ceramica Cleopatra, a complete polishing line with Hi Coat treatment for Somocer in Tunisia, and a squaring machine and score-and-snap tile cutting machine for Politile in Portugal.
Ceramica Cleopatra of Suez has commissioned Ancora Group to supply two polishing and lapping lines complete with squaring and score-and-snap machines, which join the two already installed lines for the production of full-body and glazed porcelain tile. Ancora has also won a contract from Ceramica Somocer in Tunisia for a polishing line complete with a patented Hi Coat Coating System for final treatment of ceramic tiles and another from Ceramica Politile in Portugal for a score-and-snap tile cutting machine and a squaring machine. “These contracts are a major success for our group, international leader in the design and production of plant and machinery for end-of-line processing,” commented the Ancora Group’s Vice Chairman Fabio Corradini. “They send out a positive message about the economic recovery of a sector that has succeeded in withstanding the international crisis of 2009.” The lines and machines were designed and built by Ancora Group in its Sassuolo factory and the mechanical components were entirely produced in Italy.
